Personal data we process

The Werks processes your personal data as soon as you use our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself.

We process the following personal data:

  • First and last name
  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address

The purposes and basis for which we process personal data

The Werks processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Sending our newsletter
  • To be able to call or e-mail you if this is necessary to carry out our services
  • To deliver services to you

Special and/or sensitive personal data we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors who are under 16 years of age. Unless they have permission from parents or guardians. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities to avoid collecting data on children without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without such consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete this information.

Automated decision-making

Based on automated processing, The Werks does not make decisions on matters that could (significantly) affect individuals. These are decisions that are made by computer programmes or systems, without a human being (e.g. an employee of The Werks) being involved. The Werks uses the following computer programmes or systems:

WordPress, Plausible, Brevo, Moneybird, SE Ranking, Basecamp.

How long we keep personal data

The Werks will not keep your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes for which your data is collected. We use the following retention periods for the following (categories of) personal data:

  • For 1 off contact, which does not lead to an order, data are deleted after one year
  • After purchasing a service from The Werks, data are kept for 5 years and reviewed every year whether the customer relationship is still active

Sharing personal data with third parties

The Werks only provides third parties and only when necessary for the performance of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

Viewing, correcting or deleting data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your possible consent to data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by The Werks and you have the right to data portability. This means you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we have on you in a computer file to you or another organisation named by you.

You can send a request for inspection, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or a request to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your personal data to [email protected].

To make sure that the request for inspection is made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your proof of identity with the request. In this copy, erase your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, but within four weeks.

How we secure personal data

The Werks takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to counter abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you feel that your data is nevertheless not properly secured or there are indications of misuse, please contact us via [email protected]. The Werks has taken the following measures to secure your personal data:

  • security software, such as a virus scanner and firewall.
  • TLS (formerly SSL) We send your data via a secure internet connection. You can tell this by the ‘https’ address bar and the padlock in the address bar.
  • DKIM, SPF and DMARC are three Internet standards that we use to prevent you from receiving e-mails from us that contain viruses, are spam or are intended to obtain personal (login) data.

The Werks reserves the right to amend this Privacy Statement.
